Sink or Float?

What a fun and simple way to "get in" a little Science lesson. When it gets close to Easter time, eggs come out in our house and end up getting played with in various ways for several weeks. Therefore I try to come up with as many ideas with them as I can.

We tested whether they would sink or float when opened, closed, or filled with water. Kinsleigh did pretty good with her guessing!

Fizzy Fun

Mix a little bit of vinegar with baking soda and you've got a foaming reaction.  Big K always likes to do things with food coloring so we added a bit of color to our baking soda first before dropping in the vinegar.  I let Kinsleigh use a little medicine dropper to drop the vinegar in herself just to reinforce a little more of that fine motor practice.  She was very surprised when she saw what happened when you mixed them together!
