Fourth of July Paintings

We did a little 4th of July art today!  You can never go wrong with paints in this house!  I've done this art with my preschoolers at school a few times too and they always turn out so cute!

All you need is some red, white and blue paper and paints and a few pipe cleaners.  Fold five or six pipe cleaners in half, twist the end to make a handle, spread it out and you have a paint utensil that looks like a firework!

I helped Little K make her fireworks but of course she would rather smear the paint all around.  That's much more fun!

Then we also painted with star cookie cutters just for something additionally festive to do!

Feather Painting

I always say paint with any and everything you can find.  Kids love using the different textures and seeing the different designs they will make with the paint.  Loofahs were a popular one for us.

And feathers were super fun too!

Bubble Wrap Fun!

Looking for another one of those simple entertainment activities on the fly?  Why not take out a role of bubble wrap and tape some to the floor?  They can pop them one by one.

Stomp and sit all over it

or end up pretending it's water for a fish and make them swim on it. 

Want to take that bubble wrap fun even farther?  Paint it.  Big K especially liked this.  She loves anything with paints really but for some reason, she thought painting on these bubbles was really funny. 

Once you get the colors all the way you want them, lay a piece of paper down flat on it and see the pretty design it makes!
