The Early Days

Just felt like taking a trip down memory lane today and sharing some old photos of Big K doing some sensory activities before she was even two years old!  I can't believe she's going to be 4 next month!  I was so good at doing these types of things with Big K and feel like I have slacked entirely too much with Little K but let's just face it...  many things seem nearly impossible when you have a toddler and preschooler running around the house all day.  Maybe finding these should be my inspiration to get more going again.  Who knows???

Ice Cube Painting

Add a little different sensory experience to your child's painting one day.  Squeeze some of your washable paints into ice cubes trays, freeze them, then let them paint away with them.  They will enjoy feeling the cold texture.  And they WILL get messy! It was a good way for Big K to manipulate a different shape in her hands for writing too.  Little K just liked to watch them melt on her paper.

"Mess Free" Painting

Just a different way to play with paints and you can do it anywhere.  Place in baggies, tape to table and you're done!

Big K decided to try crayons on the bag since they were sitting out on the table, which actually kind of worked.

Little sis of course imitates EVERYTHING big sis does! Adorable

Tape Paintings

Got this idea from one of my inspiration blogs.  Not really sure which one!  Basically, just put strips of masking tape on some paper into whatever design you would like.  I chose a snowflake.  Big K's were just wherever she could place them.  Paint over them.  Let them dry.  Then you can take the tape off leaving a pretty picture behind.
