As many of you know I actually teach preschool outside of my home three days a week so many times I will take the themes we did at school and then incorporate them at home the next week once I bring some of my stuff back. (My oldest is the reason for this idea because she was always going into my classroom and seeing what my kids were doing and wanting to do the same.) This past week, in honor of Dr. Seuss' Birthday we had an entire Dr. Seuss theme! I even had our living room all set up with Dr. Seuss books to explore (which they loved by the way).
Our sensory table was a simple foam fish, net and water with blue dye. I was thinking "One fish, two fish?"
Big K created her own games of sorting colors and making patterns.

Worked in a little math at snack time. Big K helped Little K with counting the fishies!
I made some little homemade puzzles out of craft sticks and pictures I found on google images of covers of Dr. Seuss books. Very easy to make and create a decent enough challenge to put back together for little ones. I was very pleased with how into these puzzles Big K was. She actually asked me to make more! I however, assured her three was enough as I was all crafted out for the day!

Little K made herself a little handprint "One Fish, Two fish, Red fish, Blue fish" craft.

Here you see the footprint "Cat in the Hat" I made with Big K on the top and on the bottom you see what she wanted to add into it. She insisted that it needed the boy and girl from the story on it too. Love that girls creative mind!
And here is all Big K's Dr. Seuss projects displayed on her art wall in her room for the week. I don't usually share photos of their art walls because it's usually all random things but thought I'd through it in there this time. Both of my girls have an art display wall in their rooms homemade with items I found at Hobby Lobby. One of my favorite things of their rooms!
